Simplicity

John 1 verse 5.........The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn't put it out.

I can't believe a whole year has gone by leading Art Worship at Bayside Church, yet here I am writing up the events of Vision Weekend for 2015. With Simplicity as the theme, this year we had Art Worship running across all three services, that's Saturday evening and Sunday morning at the Cheltenham campus, and Sunday morning at the Frankston campus.

Funnily enough, 'Simplicity' turned out to be quite complicated in terms of planning and preparing the canvases prior to the services. Time is always a constraint during Art Worship, and many of the processes used to create the finished art works shown here are impossible to do during live Worship. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the prep time enabled artists to come together, sharing heart and vision........beautiful!

Lighten Up.......commission piece

Light....I am obsessed with it. Trying to capture it's fundamental quality in my work is always challenging. This piece was inspired by a scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:5-6 from the Message version of the bible.

Live Art Worship Collaboration Creation

Another live Art Worship collaboration; one canvas, two artists and around 30 minutes of time during acoustic worship at Bayside Church. Credit goes to Ross Guiderman for of course the art, but also for all the ducking and diving without treading on my toes! Hopefully these pics show the progression of the piece.
