Expression Pure!

More live art in worship, but this time with relationships as a central theme I designed a true collaborative experience of making art. Three canvases, four artists; Tonia Burgess, Alannah Anderson and Ross Geidermann and myself, all working in unison on all three canvases simultaneously! No time to be precious, it was all about letting go of control, give and take, and pure expression. Of course there was lots of preparation; a colour palette, research, meetings with the other artists, sketches, but there is nothing like that feeling of the 'blank canvas' with a twenty minute time constraint for the pieces to be completed as an act of worship in themselves.

Sketches for 'Three Stranded Cord' Ecclesiastes 4:12

Loving the incidental colour from a well used drawing board.

The final pieces, sold on the night.
Me at work with spray paint on the night.
'Three Stranded Cord' triptych medium; ink, acrylic paint and enamel spray paint on canvas.
